About BBSD
Beach Brawl SK8R Dolls Mission
Statement:
The BBSD is the first-ever
women's flat track roller derby league in the Fort
Walton Beach/Destin area. Comprised of women from
all walks of life, we are a charitable
organization with our main focus being the
empowerment of women & the protection of
children.
The original team OW Roller
League was formed July 2007. In April 2008 the
original founder moved and the team
was dissolved. A new team rose from the ashes and
regrouped and reformed as Beach Brawl Derby
Dolls. However, the name was denied and a new one
had to be chosen. So came to life... Beach Brawl
SK8R Dolls! It's official!
BBSD is an all women's flat
track roller derby league. It was founded by
Imp Priss, Cheap Shot, DMon & a few other
dedicated skaters from the previous team. With
interest growing we are currently looking for a
permanent place to hold practices, bouts, and
events. Even though the team is shown as an LLC
we are in the process of trying to become a
Not-For-Profit Organization. The team would like
profits to back into our local community through
local organizations such as Habitat For Humanity,
The Shelter House, Children in Crisis, and FWB
Rotary Youth Club.
In order to accomplish this goal we need your
support. If your business would like to sponsor
our team please send us a message and we will be
in touch. If you would like to join the team,
please let us know. We need our communities
support in order to make this successful.
We have had a successful and
wonderful first season. The typical derby season
winds
down in November, however, there is no off season in
roller derby. Once the bouting season is
over, the real work begins trying to recruit,
train, build sponsors and support for the
team. We hope to become as successful as a few
neighboring teams such as
Panama City Roller Derby, & Tallahassee Roller
