The BBSD is the first-ever women’s flat
track roller derby league in the Fort Walton
Beach/Destin area. Comprised of women from all
walks of life, we are a charitable organization
with our main focus being the empowerment of women
& the protection of children.
We have done
fund raisers for Children In Crisis. In May
2008 we held an 80s Prom and raised hundreds of
dollars for Children In Crisis. BBSD opened
its doors and all the donations raised at one of
our open practices went to Habitat For Humanity.
In the beginning we held an auction and raised
$400 for Shelter House.
We look forward
to partnering with these organizations and several
others in the future to help raise money for our
local charities. As a team that is operating
as a Not For Profit the money raised only covers
our costs and the remaining funds will be
distributed 501C3 Organizations. |
